The Environmental Freestyle episode is just that. We invite Wes, from the WSU Environmental Club in studio to discuss the groups goals and issues dearest to their agenda. The goal of the Environmental Club is to educate students about issues they may not be familiar with. For instance, our government is leasing more land surrounding the Great Salt Lake to mineral extraction companies. Listen to hear this may affect avian populations. Wes is personally passionate about halting shale extraction from the Uinta's. He gives us details on how to create a call to action to help protect the environment.

The Ogden Valley Winter Sports Foundation plays an integral roll in preparing young women and men for lifelong active outdoor lifestyle. formally known as the Snowbasin Ski Team, OVWSF now operates in multiple winter sports disciplines, and provides a comprehensive training regimen for its athletes.
As a fundraiser, OVWSF sponsors the Banff Mountain Film Festival which rolls through Ogden each year; and net proceeds go to benefit the foundation. Program Administrator, Jen Leininger, came in studio to help us learn more about OVWSF's programs and how parents can get their children involved in such a rewarding endeavor.
Jan Larsen is lucky enough to preview the 2011/12 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour films in Banff, and she is in studio to tell us about this year's line-up. Jan breaks down the Film Fest this weekend as well as give insight into what it's like to view the films in Banff.
We also test to see if Jan can say "Deuter" as well as the Banff Announcer... let's just say, the Banff gentleman is pro.
